Meet Nicole: Goodland’s new onsite General Manager

Published December 11, 2025

We’re delighted to introduce Nicole, our new onsite General Manager and community experience extraordinaire. She’s the warm smile greeting neighbors, the calm voice answering questions and one of the people helping steer the community toward its big, long-term vision. After sixteen years in the industry and experience across every corner of community management — from mixed-use master-planned communities to charming lakeside neighborhoods — she’s bringing a whole lot of heart and know-how to Goodland.

We sat down with Nicole to chat about her role, her passions and what she’s most excited to create alongside residents.

Nicole & her role

Q: What does an onsite general manager do in a community like Goodland?
A: It’s a role that fosters a sense of community. I’m here to educate, advocate and help bring the vision of Goodland to life.

Q: What kinds of things can residents come to you for?
A: Anything. Even if it’s not in my wheelhouse, I’ll make sure they get the right support or resources.

Q: What part of your role lights you up the most?
A: People. Getting to know residents has been my favorite part of being here.

Why Goodland was the right next step

Nicole and her husband have been married for twenty-five years and have two kids. Before joining Goodland, she spent seven years in Austin managing communities of all kinds, that feature everything from commercial districts to community gardens. After years of traveling for work, she felt the pull back home. Today, she lives less than twenty minutes away in Grand Prairie and says returning to the DFW area “just feels right.”

One of the first things she did after starting at Goodland was host a Cheers & Chat event. Residents stopped by for wine, cheese, jazz and conversation — and plenty more “pop in and say hi” moments are sure to come.

Life’s good at Goodland

Q: What excites you most about Goodland as it grows?
A: Being part of the vision from the very beginning. There’s something special about helping bring a place to life.

Q: What feels unique about this community compared to places you’ve worked before?
A: It has a small-town feel with a city vibe. It’s warm, friendly and full of energy.

Q: How do you hope neighbors will connect with each other here?
A: Through face-to-face moments: meeting for a cup of coffee or a beer, chatting at events, running into each other around the community. That’s where real relationships start.

A year-round calendar of community events

Q: How many events do you expect to put on in 2026?
A: Twelve, and they could be anything from vendor fairs to book clubs to crawfish boils. I envision events like Wine Down Wednesdays, pet parades and youth fishing lessons could be some resident favorites.

Q: How do resident ideas shape the event calendar?
A: They play a crucial role. Volunteer committees are often the spark that gets people involved and gives them a sense of value and purpose in the community.

Q: How do you see the calendar evolving as Goodland grows?
A: As more residents get involved and as we add a dedicated social director, the calendar will keep growing, expanding and getting more creative.

The Nicole behind the nametag

Nicole brings a genuine sense of joy to everything she does. She’s inspired by the appreciation she sees when neighbors come together and that spirit guides her role at Goodland. Outside of work, she loves thrifting and tackling flea-market flips, giving old pieces new life. Her evenings are usually spent unwinding with a glass of white wine and HGTV. And here’s a fun surprise: she also sings in her church choir.

With Nicole on the team, Goodland’s future feels bright, connected and full of heart.
