Where to Go This Fall Near Goodland

Published October 14, 2026

It’s not just settle-in season. It’s full-on fall, y’all. And because Goodland offers new homes near Midlothian and Mansfield (right between them, in fact) you’ve got your pick. The calendar’s filling up with fests, markets and celebrations all around us, and that’s before you count the resident-only chili cook-offs, movie nights and more right here year-round. Here are a few of our favorite fall activities to put on your calendar, too.

Haunt the Block Mansfield
October 15, 5pm | Historic Downtown Mansfield
Halloween comes a little early to downtown Mansfield. Haunt the Block brings trick-or-treating stops all along Main Street, plus a DJ, games, strolling performers, photo stations and food from downtown restaurants and food trucks. And if you’ve never seen a mascot race, this is your chance: the second annual one is happening that night, too.

Grand Prairie’s Main Street Fest
October 23 to 25 | Downtown Grand Prairie
There’s enough going on at Main Street Fest to fill a whole weekend. The three-day event brings live music, carnival fun, food and more to downtown Grand Prairie, with free admission and parking. This year’s headliners include The Commodores on Friday, Sammy Kershaw on Saturday and Keith Nieto on Sunday.

Midlothian Heritage Day
October 31, 10am to 4pm | Downtown Midlothian
Spend Halloween day downtown at Midlothian Heritage Day, a community tradition celebrating the history and spirit of the city. There’ll be live entertainment, food, shopping, family activities and plenty happening throughout the day.

Diá de los Muertos Festival
November 1, 12 to 5pm | Geyer Commons in Mansfield
The next day, Geyer Commons hosts an afternoon dedicated to honoring the past and celebrating the living. The Día de los Muertos Festival includes a themed vendor market, live entertainment, food, art and photo opportunities.

Farmers markets, two ways
Grab fresh produce, crafts and a little something to snack on at the Midlothian Farmers Market, held every Saturday through October 31 from 9am to 1pm at Union 28. Or head to the Grand Prairie Farmers Market at Market Square, open Saturdays from 8am – 1pm through mid December. You’ll find locally grown produce, tamales, baked goods, meats, salsas, artisan crafts and more.

Then come settle in
Between the fests and the markets, you’ll be out and about anyway. So why not make a stop at Goodland this season? Tour eight model homes, peek inside dozens of quick move-ins and find some fall fun and flavor from our builders along the way. Come by for one home or make the rounds. Either way, it’s a good time to see what’s here … and what might feel like home.
